History:  Coconut Coir is a natural fiber extracted from the husk of the coconut.  It is used to produce coconut rope.  Also carpets mats brushes and mattresses.  Coir is the fibrous material found between the hard internal coconut shell and the outer coat of the coconut.  There are two varieties of coir, Brown coir, which is harvested from complete ripened coconuts.  This is strong thick and has high abrasion resistance.
